Used on: Chrysler LeBaron, Chrysler New Yorker, Mitsubishi Debonair, Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero, Mitsubishi Starion
The 4G54 is a non-balanced engine, meaning it does not have a balance shaft to reduce vibration and improve smoothness. However, it is still a robust and reliable engine, suitable for various applications.
The 2.6-liter Mitsubishi 4G54 or G54B gasoline engine was produced from 1978 to 1992 and was installed on the Pajero SUV, L200 pickup truck and a number of Chrysler cars. After the end of production in Japan, the motor was assembled by Chinese companies for quite some time.
The engine was installed on:
- Mitsubishi Debonair A30 in 1978 – 1986;
- Mitsubishi Starion A180 in 1982 – 1989;
- Mitsubishi Pajero L040 in 1982 – 1991; Pajero V30 in 1991 – 1992;
